Master Chef Eatery 16, is a locally owned Cafe located in Amite, Louisiana. Established in 1982, By Vince and Ann Labarbera, Master Chef has been a locally owned staple of the community, known for its simple hometown food and friendly atmosphere.

In 1998, the Labarbra's choose retirement and sold to Tony and Kim Lamarca. The Lamarca's continued the old traditions of Master Chef, and pushed this little Amite jewel into a new era. By adding fresh home cooked meals and providing an economical lunch choice to the community, Master Chef's popularity soared.

In 2022, The Lamarca's decided to hang up the apron and pass the rolling pin to Scott and Layla Gay. Born and raised Amite natives, the Gay's have many childhood memories of Master Chef, and are focused on maintaining the historical value the restaurant has in Amite, while pushing, yet again, into a new era, making Master Chef bigger, better, and friendlier than ever! Scott, a retired Amite Firefighter, along with his wife, Layla, and their 2 children, Jessica and Korbin, have deep roots in the Amite, and are heavy dedicated to this small community that will forever be "home".
